Call for Information, it's easy to find out..

Which bus to take.

Where and when to catch the bus.

The exact fare needed.

When you'll arrive at your destination.

Knowing which bus if yours

You can tell where the bus is going by the sign on the front of the bus above the windshield and on the right side. The sign tells what the final destination of the bus is (i.e., Cumberland Road, Rt. 52, Princeton, etc.) It will tell you the major areas being served, or final destination of the route. As the bus approaches, step closer to the curb and wave to let the driver know you want to get on. If you’re not sure it’s the right bus, ask the driver.

Getting off the bus

About a block before your stop, let the bus driver know you want to get off by pulling the cord. When you get off the bus, check to make sure you have all your belongings. For your safety, step away from the bus and wait until the bus pulls away before crossing the street, so you can see traffic clearly.

Route deviation

Bluefield Area Transit provides route deviation service that extends up to 3/4 mile in each direction of the bus route. To schedule a ride or for more information, call (304) 327-8418 at least one day in advance. Service is available for everyone; additional fee required.

Fares and paying on the bus

Passes are available to purcahse from any bus driver or from either of our two locations: 3208 John Nash Blvd., Bluefield, WV or 1400 Bluefield Ave., Bluefield WV.

When paying with cash: Place exact fare in the fare box when you get on the bus. Ask the driver for a transfer if you need to continue your trip on another bus.

Simply show the driver your pass or Token Transit app and have a seat. Passes MUST be shown to the driver EACH time you board the bus.

Passengers may transfer between the South Bluefield and Cumberland Road buses at no charge. Ask the driver for more details. Full fare must be paid to transfer between all other buses.
