you're going shopping or to visit friends or family, Bluefield
Area Transit provides a convenient, easy way to get to your
destination. We've listed some helpful tips to make your riding
experience an enjoyable one.
CALL
FOR INFORMATION
It's
easy to learn...
- Which
bus to take
- Where
and when to catch the bus
- The
exact fare needed
- When
you'll arrive at your destination
Passengers
can catch the bus anywhere along the route by simply flagging
it down. You can get any information you'll need to catch
the bus by calling 304.327.8418 or 1.866.759.0978.
KNOWING
WHICH BUS IS YOURS
You
can tell where the bus is going by the sign on the front
of the bus above the windshield and on the right side. The
sign tells what the final destination of the bus is (i.e.,
Cumberland Road, Rt. 52, Princeton, etc.) It will tell you
the major areas being served, or final destination of the
route. As the bus approaches, step closer to the curb and
wave to let the driver know you want to get on. If you're
not sure it's the right bus, ask the driver.
FARES
AND PAYING ON THE BUS
Tickets
and passes are available from the bus driver or from Bluefield

in the fare box when you get on the bus. Ask the driver
for a transfer if you need to continue your trip on another
bus.
Passes: Show the driver your pass and have a seat.
Passes
MUST be shown to the driver EACH time you board the bus.

GETTING
OFF THE BUS
About
a block before your stop, let the bus driver know you want
to get off by pulling the cord. When you get off the bus,
check to make sure you have all your belongings. For your
safety, step away from the bus and wait until the bus pulls
away before crossing the street, so you can see traffic
clearly.
